A beating fish is a tearing fish

A beating fish is a tearing fish Often on fishing it is necessary to see such a picture: against the background of a complete lack of biting, a predator (sometimes a large predator) comes to the surface and attacks the fry. While spinning baits are costly. The case is almost like in a fable – “sees an eye, but a tooth is nemet”. What can I do to get a beating predator?

The battle on the surface is typical for many predators. The pike often goes to the surface behind a shallow fish, strikes, creating a powerful surf on the surface. Sometimes even flies out of the water entirely, pursuing desperately escaping prey. Large perch humpbacks rise in the near-surface layer, and strongly champing “press” the fry. Such a predator, like the asp – constantly hunts at the surface, muffling the fish with the blows of its powerful tail.

Often the outcrops of the predator to the surface are a good sign for the angler, which means that the fish is active and ready to attack anything that moves (including artificial lure). But there are also diametrically opposite situations. It seems to be a battle and there are exits, but for spinning baits – zero emotions. I myself have often become a static participant in this situation. And over the years I developed a series of techniques that still allowed me to catch a beating predator in such a stalemate.

The reasons for this behavior of the fish can be as long as desired. And there is no sense in understanding them. But try to change the situation in your favor – you can!

If we are talking about catching asp, then everything is more or less simple. The priest is very cautious. He can beat the fry of the fry. Seeing the same angler, two options are possible for his behavior: he immediately leaves and the battle ceases (as is usually the case with a large asp), or the battle continues, but the bait reaction is zero. It’s a matter of disguise. If the fisherman gave himself away, then you need to leave this place and look for another, while getting to the water because of bushes or trees, and sometimes literally crawling :).

Quite other problems and reasons, when there are outcrops on the surface of pike and large perch, but the bait is ignored. Obviously, this is a matter of wiring and bait. By the way, it happens that the predator is ready to take only zhivtsa, and artificial lures remain out of work. In that case, it’s unlikely to leave zero. But in most cases, you can pick up the key to the strange behavior of the predator.

Obviously, if the depths in the outlet areas of the fish exceed 2.5-3 m, then there is no point in looking for a predator in the bottom layer. It stands either on the floor of the water, or at the surface itself. And now, I’ll tell you what baits and wiring I’m applying to the beating predator on the surface.

1. I start with medium and small silicone. Small vibrotails on jig heads weighing 7-12g are very compact, fly well and are certainly attractive for really active fish. I escort them not deeper than 1-1.5 meters from the surface.

2.If the average rubber “is silent”, I immediately turn to the firing place of the battlefield with a micro-fire. Small vibrotails, twisters, octopus (3.5-5cm) on jigheads weighing 3-5g. (If the average perch beats – I immediately begin oblov with micro-combustion). Wiring is preferably wavy. Either an easy step at the surface, or a uniform rewind with the rocking tip of the rod in the vertical plane.

3. If the fish refuses to react to silicone, my next argument is turntables with a core. Usually I use Mepps Aglia and Mepps Aglia Long No. 2 in such places, with silvery glaring and mottled petals. It is highly desirable that the tee switches are worn with red wool or rain.

4. Then go into battle floating wobblers, working at depths of up to 1.5 m. Here it is necessary to give preference to wobblers of the form “minnow” and coloring for vagabond (which then beats a predator). Also in these conditions, small (4-5 cm) fatty-krenki with a bright acid color (provocators) showed themselves quite well.

5. My last argument is surface bait. Poppers, wolves, torpedoes. It is desirable to have rattles to create an additional noise effect.

Using the above baits and wiring, I repeatedly managed to stir a predator hunting at the surface, at first not going to respond to my artificial handouts. 🙂
